Visitors. You are our honored guest!

A family of Christians united by Christian love is East First Church of Christ. Although we readily acknowledge that we are not perfect, we serve and follow the perfect Jesus Christ. In this sense, we are a church where individuals can learn about the depths of the Christian faith and find forgiveness and acceptance. Our goal is to lead individuals to Jesus and assist them in becoming totally committed followers who serve others to show God’s love. The East First Church of Christ bases all of its doctrine on what the Bible says. A well-known motto of Christ’s churches is “Speak where the Bible speaks; be silent where the Bible is silent.” It’s clear what it means. The East First Church of Christ will support everything that the Bible states and can understand. It also implies that anything that the Bible does not explicitly address is subject to individual interpretation. This supports a stance of liberty on issues of personal understanding and a strong unity on unquestionable fundamental facts. The following are the fundamental facts that, in accordance with biblical teaching, we all agree upon:
1. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are the three individuals of the one true God that we believe in.
2. The Bible is the only infallible, authoritative, and error-free word of God.
3. Jesus Christ’s Godhead, virgin birth, blameless life, teachings, miracles, crucifixion, and resurrection are all things we believe in.
4. Upon baptism, Christians are gifted with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, which enables followers to live a Godly life.
5. We regard salvation to be the unmerited gift of God’s grace.
6. Becoming a Christian begins with an absolute faith in Jesus Christ as God’s only Son and such strong faith motivates one to confess his or her faith, repent of sins, and be baptized for the remission of sins; Drawn from John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10, Acts 3:19, Acts 2:38, and Mark 16:16. (There is no verse anywhere in the entire Bible that speaks of the sinner’s prayer as a means of salvation.)
7. In accordance with biblical teaching, we hold that everyone who has been born again makes up the church.
